FAILURE SIMULATION

In real life factories sometimes components and even equipments can present some kind of flaw. In DL Factory Builder you can simulate a failure and practice troubleshooting by permanently forcing an actuator or a sensor into an specific state (ON/OFF). Once a component or equipment is proved to be flawed the student can work on a solution for that problem.

In the video below you will see an example of how to simulate a flawed component. In this scenary the piston is supposed to push large boxes based on a sensor, notice that if we force the sensor into the OFF state, the sensor can't detect large boxes and therefore the piston won't push them. A similar problem occurs if we leave the sensor to act as properly but the piston is forced to the ON state, in this case the piston is going to be permanently extended so it will keep all boxes from moving.
